Voters are about to find out that Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has pulled ahead of President Joe Biden.
That’s not all bad news.
More bad news? Conservatives played a major role in helping push Biden aside and pave the way for Harris’s promotion.
A good example of “be careful what you wish for,” Harris continues as Republicans described Biden. Good for leftists, but bad for conservatives. And it will test the beliefs of ordinary people.
Conservatives did not see well with Harris and Biden
I admit I did not see Harris’ candidacy and possible presidency coming. Most sellers did not. Now I realize how stupid and short-sighted that sounds.
Let me explain: Democrats have won Donald Trump for eight years and the Republican Party for decades. It’s a long time to catch flak. As Biden became more sinister, he became an obvious target for criticism. Not the 81-year-old executive himself, but the Democratic leadership who denied the truth while supporting a leader who was clearly unfit to serve another four years. It was a big mistake that had to be pointed out.
The explanation almost writes itself: How could the Democrats have been so delusional? Were they enlightening the Americans? Do they not care about democracy? The questions were important. And little relief from the constant whipping of Republicans has taken the media for years. Finally, there is a new goal. And it’s not us.
I didn’t think the Democratic Party would vote for Harris. I also didn’t think Harris would be a compelling candidate. Who would vote for a candidate who is on a roll and has risen to the top of the ticket without winning votes? But they are certainly not the people he wants.
I didn’t see that the Democratic Party would do what it did: Kick Biden to the curb months before the election. What did the opposition think we would achieve by forcing the Democrats to finally scrutinize Biden? I think some of us thought that focus would lead all the way to victory. But our “gotcha” moment was short-lived.
Many Republicans, myself included, didn’t think the Democratic Party would dump Biden and elect Harris because the GOP wouldn’t let Trump go when they could. There are more MAGA people than Trump opponents like me. So it wasn’t really a question. But if it were possible, it was not something the Republican Party would do. Republicans often don’t have the same strategies or common sense as progressives.

Another reason why the Democratic Party is successful is because they have chutzpah where the Republicans do not. They have no mercy where honest and forgiving Republicans are. They are focused while the Republicans hem and haw. They want victory now, not “legacy” later. Victories lead to legacies, after all.
You know what might not lead to victory? It pits a big, white man who is a convicted felon against a young, active, progressive black and South Asian woman.
Republicans have called Biden a liberal on the left. It’s actually Harris.
Conservatives made Biden out to be a left-wing progressive who was too old and frail to be effective. Some of that is true, but he’s not really that far-fetched. Conservatives criticized his tax policies, his college loan forgiveness program and his “Build Back Better” program as complete failures. But compared to Harris, Biden’s policies will look balanced.
Harris appeals to Democrats who like side talk about inclusion and equality and progressive policies like ending health insurance, imposing mandatory gun buyback programs, banning hydraulic fracturing for oil and gas, and opposition to the employment of more police.

For the Conservatives, his sudden election offers an opportunity to delve deeper into his record, his ideas and his policies. It is through his views that we can show moderates and independents that a Harris presidency could reduce the quality of life for many Americans.
Harris stands in stark contrast to the ideas and values attached. And his candidacy forces us to ask what a Harris presidency will mean for the future of our nation. Harris vs. Trump presents a defining moment for America: What direction do we really want to go?
I complained about Biden, but I’m telling you right now, a Kamala Harris presidency will make the last four years look like a Republican in power.
