Speaking in his protest letter, Macy explained that he sought out Ozempic to change his weight before his trip across the country.

He said: ‘Quietly, I’m a useless person. I gained a lot of weight in the last few years, and this is right around the time that everyone starts talking about this Ozempic.

‘So, I thought, well, I’m not getting it right, let me see if I can get one of these Ozempics.

‘I was actually trying to get rid of it [the weight] before the show because I didn’t want to be fat on TV, but here we are.’

Ozempic contains the active ingredient semaglutide, and although it is considered a diabetes medication, it has been used by some people to lose weight.

This drug works by mimicking the hormone that the body uses to tell us that the stomach is full and we should stop eating, helping to curb appetite and reduce overall digestion.

However, this can also cause what is known medically as the gastrocolic reflex.

Basically this means that the stomach sends a message to the brain that because more food has been eaten, room should be made for more.

As a result, the colon and rectum are instructed to empty their contents.

But if the digestive process is not fully completed, which may happen when the indication is artificial in the case of drugs like semaglutide, this can lead to explosive diarrhea.
